The Annotation Graph Schema API

This API is derived from the Annotation Graph definition and implementation . It is intended to serve as a backend to XML-based annotation APIs or as middleware to annotations in other formats where the use of XML-based tools is needed for the purposes of querying and creation of annotation bases.

We would like to thank Tom Morton and Jeremy Lacivita for granting us permission to use the annotation.org namespace.

Resources
Download and/or browse Documentation online. To install put all the jars in the lib subdirectory of the decompressed download on the classpath. For bug fixes between versions or to work with the source see building from source.
License
Source, binaries and XML Schemas with namespace prefix "org.annotation.agschema" or "http://www.annotation.org/agschema" are licensed under the terms of the Common Public License.

Language and Library Dependence
All implementation and libraries are in the Java™ programming language compiled using Java™ 1.4.2.

Xerces-J libraries are included in the distribution. The APIs are dependant on the version included so as far as possible use them.

Do contact us if you need to discuss the issues of compatibility with different versions of Java™ or Xerces-J.

Building from source
Download as above and then do the following(just press enter when prompted for a password by cvs).
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/agschema login

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/agschema co agschema_dev

cd agschema_dev
If the downloaded distribution is in $DIST
cp -R $DIST/lib .
You can now run
ant distNoDocs
You will of course need Ant. If you wish to generate docs as well you will need XSDDoc a version later than 0.5beta if one exists or build from source. Install XSDDoc as required for the ant task. The default ant target should then generate docs as well.
